• The applicant must be a resident of Andhra Pradesh state.
• The applicant’s age should be at least 18 years old at the time of applying for the scheme.
• The applicant must be a newlywed.
• The applicant should be the category of economically weaker sections of society.
• Widows and divorcees are not applicable to the scheme.
• The applicant annual income of the family should be less than Rs.2 lakhs from all sources.
• Marriage should have taken place in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Sanction Authority

• State Level – Director of Backward Classes Welfare Department.
• Rural Areas – Panchayat Raj Department
• Urban Areas – Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department.

This scheme will be implemented on the ground level according to the State Areas. In the rural areas, the panchayat raj department, along with the secretary, will implement the scheme. The Urban Development department and Municipal Administration will implement the scheme in urban areas of the state.

Scheme Guidelines

1. Applicants can register from Mandal Mahila Samakhya / Mepma office.

2. Officers will then do field inspection.

3. Before the wedding, 20% of the incentive will be deposited in the bank account of the bride after field verification

4. The rest of the money is deposited after getting married.

5. Afterwards the marriage certificate is issued.

The government has released the ‘wedding gift’ money that has been pending in Andhra Pradesh for some time. The Rs. The government has issued orders releasing funds of Rs 270 crore. The money will be credited to the accounts of many poor new couples who have applied for this. The government’s latest decision will benefit 5,861 couples. Meanwhile, the YCP government has increased the ‘wedding gift’ given to construction workers by 5 times to Rs. 20 thousand to Rs. Changed to lakh.

• Eligibility: If both the bride and groom are from the state of Andhra Pradesh.

• • Both the bride and bride groom must be enrolled in the Praja Sadhikara Survey
  • Both the bride and bride groom must be residents of the state of Andhra Pradesh
  • Both the bride and bride groom must have an Aadhaar card.
  • The bride must have a white ration card
  • The bride must be 18 years of age and bride groom must be 21 years of age as on the date of marriage.
  • Only those who are married for the first time are eligible to apply for the scheme. However, the bride can apply for the scheme if she is a widow.
  • Marriage should only take place in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

• Eligibility: If the bride is from Andhra Pradesh and the groom belongs to other states (Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh & Odissa).

• Nativity, Community & Date of Birth Certificate issued by Mee Seva with mention of Date of birth.

• Self-declaration, if widow pension is not sanctioned

• AP YSR Pelli Kanuka Scheme 2023 will provide assistance to brides of scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribes (ST), backward classes (BC), minorities, disabled & construction laborers children.
• The state govt. has allocated Rs. 750 crore for the implementation of this scheme.
• The money will be credited to the accounts of many poor new couples who have applied for this.

• Chandranna Pelli Kanuka: During the last TDP regime, under the name of ‘Chandranna Kanuka’, the government used to provide financial assistance to the poor and backward classes when they got married.
