Speaking to the media at his camp office in Tadepalli, he said that a total of 30.52 lakh farmers have benefitted under this scheme in the last two years.

On 15th December, 2020, Andhra Pradesh (AP) Chief Minister (CMJaganmohan Reddy launched ‘YSR Free Crop Insurance Scheme’ for farmers who have lost their crops during Kharif 2019. An amount of INR 1, 252 Crores was directly credited into the bank account of around 9.48 Lakh farmers.

The government of Andhra Pradesh, led by the chief minister, has disbursed the compensation of Rs 1,820.23 crore in the accounts of 15.15 lakh farmers for the Kharif-2020 season under the YSR free crop insurance scheme. The cash was deposited directly in the farmers’ accounts.

The Andhra Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, has given a compensation of Rs 1,820.23 crore to the accounts of 15.15 lakh farmers for the Kharif-2020 season under the YSR free crop insurance scheme. YSR Free Crop Insurance Scheme 2022: Jagananna Crop Insurance Pathakam Online Application Form PDF Download –  The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched this scheme for the farmers. Government compensation would be given to farmers whose crops were damaged and that they would pay compensation to farmers who suffered losses in Kharif in the same season when they arrived.

The state government would bear crop insurance without burdening the farmers. The main motive behind this scheme is to provide the facility of insurance for the farmers.

Payment Released Under Free Crop Insurance Scheme

An amount of Rs 1820.23 crore has been announced for 15.15 lakh beneficiaries for Kharif-2020 and the Chief Minister will press the button and deposit Rs 1310 crore in the accounts of 11.59 lakh farmers. Under this scheme, the State Govt will provide Crop Insurance. Check AP e-panta List 2021 or AP e-panta Status online.

The YSR Govt previously released Rs 715 crore insurance arrears for 2018-19 and Rs 1,253 crore for free crop insurance compensation for 2019-20.

The State Govt have spent over Rs 83,000 crore on farmers in 23 months and set up village secretariats for every 2,000 population in the state, and 10,778 RBKs have been set up along with village secretariats.

Claim Amount Paid Till Now

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has also paid a crop Insurance premium of Rs 122.61 crore for 2018-19 Rabi which was kept pending by the TDP government. This premium was paid on 26 June 2020. After that around Rs, 596.26 crores is paid to 5.94 lakh farmers and for Kharif 2019 Andhra Pradesh Government has paid Rs 468 crore. From 2016 To 2020 the number of farmers insured under the Scheme has increased.

  • In 2016-17, 17.79 lakh farmers has insured.
  • In 2017-18, 18.22 lakh farmers has insured.
  • Then in 2018-19, 24.83 lakh farmers have insured but in 2019-20 the number of farmers enrolled under the crop Insurance Scheme has increased to 49.50 lakh.
  • Now In 2020-21, 15.15 Lakh farmers have insured.

YSR Free Crop Insurance Scheme Rythu Bharosa Kendras

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has established 10641 Rythu Bharosa Kendra which is integrated with the village secretariat in order to benefit the farmers under AP Free Crop Insurance Scheme. Considering the Nivar cyclone the details of Crop loss will be displayed at rythu Bharosa Kendra with the village secretariat. The compensation to the farmers would be paid by 31st December 2020.

Crop Insurance

National Agricultural Insurance Scheme (NAIS) is implemented from Kharif 2000 season with an objective to provide a measure of financial support to the farmers in the event of Crop loss due to any calamity to restore the credit eligibility for the next season and to stabilize farm incomes.

  2. some beneficiaries who away from their home town due to exigency of service ie army as well as lockdown/non plying of public transport due to Covid 19. Such person permission to apply on line for free crop insurance may be extended as they are not possible to affix their fingerprints
