World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2020
July 30 is observed as World Day Against Human Trafficking in order to raise awareness against human trafficking and protect the rights of victims. The theme of the World Day Against Human Trafficking is ‘Human Trafficking: Call Your Government to Action’ by the UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) this year. About 1-third of victims of human trafficking are children.
This year, we will focus on the first responders to human trafficking. These are the people who work in different sectors – identifying, supporting, counselling and seeking justice for victims of trafficking, and challenging the impunity of the traffickers.
