WBMDFC Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Guidelines:

The eligibility criteria for different types of scholarship schemes are given below:-

Pre-matric Scholarship

• The student must be a West Bengal resident.
• The family’s annual income shouldn’t be more than Rs. 2 lakh.
• The student must be enrolled in a programme at a school or institution that has been approved by a state or federally funded university, council, or educational board.
• Pre-matriculated and post-matriculated scholarships are not available to students attending institutions outside of West Bengal.
• A minimum of 50% of the available points, or the equivalent grade, must have been earned in the final exam from the preceding academic year.

Post-matric Scholarship    

• The student’s current residence must be in West Bengal.
• The student’s family’s annual income should not be more than Rs. 2 lakh.
• The student must have received at least 50% on their prior final test, or an equal grade.
• Pre-matriculating and post-matriculating students who attend institutions outside of West Bengal are not eligible for these scholarships.
• The student must be enrolled in a school or institution that has been approved by a state or federal educational board, council, or university.

Merit Cum- Means Scholarships

• The student’s current residence must be in West Bengal.
• The student’s family’s annual income cannot exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh.
• The student’s final Higher Secondary/Graduation exam grade must have been at least 50%.
• Students who live in West Bengal but are attending one of the WBMDFC-listed colleges outside of West Bengal are also eligible to apply.

Talent Support Stipend

• The candidate must reside in West Bengal.
• The candidate must have been accepted into a technical or professional programme.
• A candidate must have received at least a 50% on their most recent Higher Secondary/Graduation test.
• The student’s family’s annual income cannot exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh.
• The West Bengal Minorities’ Development and Finance Corporation may from time to time notify students who are West Bengal residents but are enrolled in designated institutions outside of West Bengal that they are eligible to apply.

Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship

• The student must be enrolled in either Class 11 or 12.
• In addition to the general Undergraduate and Postgraduate level students studying General Degree courses, the student must be seeking graduation in Engineering, Medical, and Technical/Professional degrees.
• The student’s family’s annual income should not be more than Rs. 2.5 lakh.
• Deserving students will be awarded scholarships based on merit and other factors.
• This award is also open to students enrolled in M.Phil. and PhD programmes at state-funded institutions.

Eligibility of Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship

• The candidate must be a SC, ST, or OBC and a permanent resident of West Bengal.
• Only female students may apply for this scholarship programme.
• The scholarship programme is open to students enrolled in 10th, 12th, graduation, or postgraduate studies.
• For SC and ST category, the annual household income should not exceed 2.5 lacs.
• For OBCs, the household income cannot exceed 80,000 per year.
