The West Bengal government recently announced a new portal known as Utsashree or Utshashree for Teachers. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee stated that the meaning of the Bengali word “Utsha” means source and as education is the source of everything, hence the portal is named Utshashree.
Online Transfer Portal Benefits
The benefits that can be availed through this online transfer portal: –
- Teachers and educators of government-sponsored and assisted primary / upper primary/secondary / higher secondary schools will be able to apply for transfer online.
- Applicants will be able to know the location of different stages of their application.
- The application for online transfer of teachers will be disposed of in due course.
Required Document for West Bengal Utsashree Portal
Important Document to Apply Online:
- Documents relating to any illness
- Documents relating to physical disablement (above 40%)
- Birth certificate of child for female teacher
- Distance certificate between places of posting of both spouses
- Distance certificate between place of posting and permanent address
- Size of documents should not exceed 200 KB
West Bengal Utsashree Portal Eligibility Criteria
Beneficiary Eligibility Guidelines:
- The applicant should be confirmed and serving in the present school in the present post for at least five years.
- Applicant must be within 59 years of age
- The place of posting should be more than 25 km in case of secondary schools
- Primary teachers will not be able to apply within the same Circle
- According to the school education department, more than two thousand teachers have already been transferred in the first phase.
- No teaching/nonteaching staff would be allowed to apply within five years of the last transfer
- If anybody has refused a transfer order he/she will not be able to apply again before the completion of seven years
- If anybody is under suspension, facing any Disciplinary proceedings/judicial proceedings or charges of financial irregularity he/ she shall not be able to apply for transfer
- 22317 applications have been submitted so far for the transfer of secondary level. Of which 1990 teachers have applied for general transfer.

Procedure To Apply For Transfer
- First of all, go to the official website of the School Education Department, Government of West Bengal

- A Login form will show on the screen.
- In this form, you have to select your OSMS type
- Now you have to enter the teacher’s unique code, PAN card number, and captcha code
