Summary: Applications are invited from Minority students for a scholarship for the current year under “ SWAMI VIVEKANANDA MERIT CUM MEANS SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR MINORITIES” for providing financial assistance to the meritorious students of West Bengal, pursuing higher studies. WB Swami Vivekananda Scholarship (SVMCM) Online Registration Process

West Bengal Higher Education Department provides Swami Vivekananda Scholarships to the meritorious students, who scored at least 75% on the last board examination.

The West Bengal Government Started Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme For Meritorious Students Belonging To Economically Backward Families Of State. The Scholarship Amount Will Provided To Students Who Are Studying At Higher Secondary Level, Diploma (Polytechnic) Level, Under Graduate Level, Post Graduate Level, M. Phil./ Doctoral Level As Well As Kanyashree (K-2) Recipients.

All Eligible Applicants who want to apply to this scheme then read all instructions carefully and follow the given below steps to apply online application form:

Procedure to Apply Online Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Application Form 2022

Step 1- Visit the Official Website of Swami Vivekananda Scholarship i.e. svmcm.wbhed.gov.in.

Step 2- On the Homepage, Click on the Option “Registration” link under the menu section.

Step 3- The Registration Form page will be displayed on the screen.

Step 4- At first, applicants need to fill up and submit the online registration form.

Step 5- On successful submission of the Registration Form, an Applicant ID of 15 characters will be generated and it will be used to login and complete the remaining Steps of the Application Form

Step 6- Login with the generated Applicant ID, Password (which was set during Registration Process) and Captcha (Security Code). After successful login, fill up rest of the application forms.

• Image and Signature format should be JPG/JPEG and size should be in between 20KB-50KB and 10KB-20KB respectively.

Step 7- After successful submission of application forms, Scanned Supporting Document Upload form will be appeared. Upload all necessary documents as mentioned in the form.

Step 8- After successful upload, Check the application in view mode & click on Submit Application to complete the application process.

Note:- Students are advised to submit only “One Application Form”. In case if students submit more than one application form then all the applications submitted by students will be considered as “Duplicate” and will be “Rejected”.

Selection Process In Swami Vivekananda Scholarship

1. First, online applications are sorted.
2. They are sorted initially in a descending order based on the marks secured and the income criteria of the student.
3. The merit list will be generated accordingly.
4. The merit list will be based on the availability of all documents submitted by the candidates
5. Finally, the scholarship will be disbursed in their respective accounts.

Renewal Procedure

The scholarship renewal application is available on the official website. The application has to be filed online within a month of the ward’s admission into higher levels due to promotion. The applicant must keep in mind that he/ she has to clear the semester examinations in the first attempt.

The eligible students have to submit their online applications at web portal “www.wbmdfcscholarship.in”.
Following documents are to be uploaded at the time of filing online application:-

(i) Mark sheet of the last examination.
(ii) Income certificate in the prescribed format.
(iii) First page of bank pass book mentioning clearly the A/C no. and IFSC details
(iv) Institute verification form duly authenticated by the Head of the Institution (HOI) in the prescribed format.

After the submission of online application the candidates are required to collect the institute verification form from the portal. The same will be required to be authenticated by the HOI and finally uploaded to the portal.

Beneficiary Guidelines

Applicants must be a domicile of West Bengal and has been continuing education in institutes situated in West Bengal. Applicants must be continue his/her study in educational institutions of West Bengal after passing out in Current year from the West Bengal State Board/Council of Secondary/Higher Secondary and Madrasah Education and State University. Students must belong to Minority Community (Muslim / Christian / Sikh / Buddhist / Parsee & Jain). Annual family income not exceeding Rs. 2.5 lakhs (Certificate to be issued by any gazetted Officer not below the rank of Joint BDO).

Specific Eligibility Criteria

The following eligibility criteria have been finalized by the concerned authorities for a different type of scholarship scheme:-
