Chief Minister of Sikkim, Prem Singh Tamang has announced that the State Government will soon implement ‘Aama Yojana, a scheme for helping non-working mothers & ‘Bahini Scheme’ benefitting girl students of the state. The main objective of launching this scheme was to help in securing the future of the mothers at old age. Under Sikkim Aama Yojana, the government will open a bank account in the name of the mothers. Also, the government will transfer Rs. 20,000 into the bank account of these beneficiaries every year. The government has also sanctioned the budget of Rs. 32 crores for the successful implementation of this scheme for the current year.
