RKVY scheme was initiated in 2007 as an umbrella scheme for ensuring holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors by allowing states to choose their own agriculture and allied sector development activities as per the district/state agriculture plan. The main goal of launching the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana is to ensure the overall development of agricultural sectors and to achieve 4% annual growth in the agriculture sector. Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana Eligibility Criteria
Beneficiary Eligibility Guidelines:
- All the states of the country are eligible to get the benefit of this scheme.
- Under this scheme, 60% of the amount will be spent by the Central Government and 40% will be spent by the State Government.
- In the case of North Eastern and hilly states, 90% of the amount will be spent by the Central Government and 10% will be spent by the State Government.
- For Union Territories, 100% of the amount will be spent by the Central Government under this scheme.
Objectives of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana 2022
The objective of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana is to develop agriculture and allied sectors. For which agribusiness entrepreneurship will be promoted. Agriculture infrastructure will be created through this scheme. To reduce the risk of farmers by focusing on increasing income generation through mushroom cultivation, integrated farming, floriculture, etc. Through Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, it will be ensured that the agriculture sector can achieve annual growth rate.
Scheme Benefits
- Through this scheme, it will be ensured that the local needs of the farmers are focused on the crops and priorities.
- During the 11th plan, Rs 22408.76 crore was released and 5768 projects were implemented in the states.
- 3148.44 crore was released under this scheme in 12th five year plan and 7600 scheme was implemented in the areas of crop development, horticulture, agricultural mechanization etc.
- Till 2014-15, the scheme was being implemented with 100% central assistance.
