Selected candidates in the written examination will be called for the Physical Eligibility Test. The board will prepare a final merit list based on the candidate’s performance in the PET round.

Punjab Police Constable Exam Pattern and Syllabus

  • The written examination will most likely comprise of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) with one mark
    awarded for every correct answer.
  • There will be negative marking and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

IMPORTANT NOTE

  • Written Test will be conducted before the Physical Screening Test (PST).
  • Only those candidates who clear the Written Test (on the basis of cut-off) will be eligible for Physical Screening Test (PST), which will be qualifying in nature. No marks will be awarded for the PST, but all candidates must
    clear the prescribed fitness trial/events.
  • Merit will be drawn up purely on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Test.

Age Limit Criteria

As on 1st January 2021, a candidate should have attained the ageof 18 years but should not have attained the age of 28 years, provided further that:

  • SC/ST/BC candidates shall be eligible for relaxation in upper age limit by 5 years.
  • Ex-Servicemen shall be given relaxation in the upper age limit by 3 years, plus the number of years of service, rendered/served by them in the Indian Defence Forces.
  • Serving government employees (State govt. or central govt.)shall be given relaxation in upper age limit by 5 years, but they should not have attained the age of 33 years, as on 1st January 2021.

Minimum Educational Qualification

  • 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized Education Board/University.
  • In the case of Ex-Servicemen, the minimum educational qualification shall be Matriculation.
  • No candidate shall be eligible for appearing in the Written Test, unless he/she has passed the Matriculation Examination with Punjabi or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language (which may be specified by the Punjab government from time to time).

Pay Scale (Salary):

Constable salary : Rs. 5200-20200/- (grade pay Rs. 1800/-)
Sub inspector (SI) salary : Rs. 10,300 – 34,800/- (grade pay Rs. 4,600/-)
