Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced the rollout of the doorstep ration delivery scheme, however, kept it optional for the eligible beneficiaries. Under the scheme, an option would also be given to those who want to get ration supply from nearby depots as per their convenience. Through this scheme, the ration will be home delivered to the citizens of Punjab. Now citizens of Punjab are not required to go anywhere in order to take ration because the government is going to deliver the ration at their doorstep.  The government is going to benefit 43 lakh families with the implementation of this scheme. The government will deliver the ration in sealed bags by following all the protocols.

Punjab Ghar Ghar Ration Yojana & Distribution

Ghar Ghar Ration Yojna, the doorstep ration delivery scheme announced by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann will cater to the beneficiaries of the Atta-Dal Scheme of the state government, which was renamed Smart Ration Card Scheme by the erstwhile Captain Amarinder Singh-led government and was the state’s version of the Centre’s Food Security Act.

There are 1.51 crore beneficiaries (37 lakh families) in Punjab under the National Food Security Act who get wheat at Rs 2 per kg. Each eligible person gets 5 kg wheat every month. Till December, wheat for six months was distributed bi-annually. This was changed to quarterly distribution of wheat from January this year.
