• In this scheme, applications have been provided to two lakh families under cashless medical scheme.
• The State Headquarters and Government of India have named this scheme as Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay State Employees Cashless Medical Scheme.

• योजना का क्रियान्वयन शासन द्वारा नामित नोडल एजेंसी UP स्वास्थ्य बीमा कल्याण समिति (साची) द्वारा किया जाएगा।

 The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a cashless medical scheme for state employees and their families and pensioners. Under which they will be provided cashless treatment in case of emergency or serious diseases. Under this scheme, only government employees and pensioners can apply online. A state health card will be available for all the employees to take advantage of this scheme.

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay State Employees Cashless Medical Scheme has been launched by the Uttar Pradesh government. Through this scheme, the facility of cashless treatment up to ₹ 500000 will be provided to the state employees and pensioners. The mandate to implement this scheme has been issued by the Uttar Pradesh government on 7 January 2023.  To take advantage of the scheme, beneficiaries will be able to get their treatment done through government and private hospitals.

The main objective of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Rajya Karmchari Cashless Chikitsa Yojana is to provide a cashless treatment facility to the beneficiaries. Through this scheme, cashless treatment up to ₹ 500000 will be provided to state employees and pensioners. 

Benefits and Features of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay State Employees Cashless Medical Scheme

• Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay State Employees Cashless Medical Scheme has been launched by the Uttar Pradesh government.
• Through this scheme, the facility of cashless treatment up to ₹ 500000 will be provided to the state employees and pensioners.
• The mandate to implement this scheme has been issued by the Uttar Pradesh government on 7 January 2023.
• About 28 lakh state employees and pensioners of UP will be able to get the benefit of this facility.
• Through this scheme, the facility of cashless treatment will be provided to the state employees, pensioners and their family members.
• The state government used to pay whatever expenses were incurred on the treatment. 
• This card will be made by the State Agency for Health Integrated Services.
• It will be the responsibility of all the department heads that they should take care that the state health card of the personnel and pensioners of their department is made.
• Apart from this, all those private hospitals which are treating patients under Ayushman Bharat scheme have also been provided this facility.
• Under the existing system, the state government employees till now had the facility of free treatment in government hospitals, medical colleges or authorized constitutional hospitals.
• A corpus of Rs 200 crore for medical institutions and medical colleges and Rs 100 crore for district hospitals has been created by the Medical Education Department.
• Through the corpus fund, the government hospital will have to pay 50% of the cost of treatment.
• The remaining 50% amount will be provided by the Finance Department on providing the utilization certificate.
• Along with the facility of this treatment, the option of getting medical reimbursement after treatment according to the present arrangement will also be provided.
• In private hospitals too, the dependents of government employees, retired employees and their families will be able to get cashless medical facilities under the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya State Employees Cashless Medical Scheme.
• The limit on the cost of treatment in such private hospitals will be up to five lakh rupees per beneficiary family every year.
