Summary:  The National Testing Agency, NTA is inviting online applications for the National Entrance Test for the Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Classes in Targeted Areas (SHRESTHA (NETS))-2022.

Eligible students will be enrolled for the scheme through the NETS (National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA exams which will be conducted at the national level by the National Testing Agency. The exams will be conducted in computer-based mode. Students qualifying for the SHRESHTA exams will be shortlisted for admissions to the CBSE-affiliated schools. 

Students will be shortlisted for SHRESHTA 2022 after clearing NETS 2022. Last date to apply for NETS 2022 exam is April 12, 2022 up to 5 pm. NTA will be conducting NTA 2022 on May 7, 2022. Check the complete schedule below.

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has launched the scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Classes in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA (NETS))-2022. SHRESHTA scheme aims at providing high-quality education for Scheduled Castes (SCs) students only, in CBSE-affiliated reputed residential schools.  The scheme is being introduced from the 2022-21 academic session. It will provide scholarships covering all the educational expenses of the meritorious students from class 9 and 11 from the SC communities.

  • Candidates can apply for SHRESHTA through online mode between March 12 to April 4, 2022.
  • The last date to apply for NETS 2022 exams is April 12.
  • NTA will be conducting NTA 2022 on May 7, 2022.

Eligibility Details

Candidates must note that the National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA (NETS) will be an offline test through which students belonging to the SC community will get admission in Classes 9 and 11 whose parental annual income is up to 2.5 lakhs There is no fee for the examination.

Required Documents

Students applying for NETS 2022 will be required to submit a set of details and documents like name, date of birth, educational certificates, photograph, signature, SC Certificate / Undertaking, Income Certificate as applicable.

About SHRESHTA Scheme

The government has approved a new scheme named SHRESHTA (Residential Education for Students in High Schools in Targeted Areas) for the purpose of providing seats for the meritorious SC boys and girls in the best private residential schools in the country. Every year, it is expected that about (3000) students would be selected for admission in Class 9 and Class 11 under the scheme.

The exam conducting body, National Testing Agency (NTA), has started inviting applications for SHRESHTA, NETS. All the interested students of classes 9 and 11 can participate in the scheme for Residential Education for students in high classes in targeted areas. Step 2- On the homepage, click on the Registration for SHRESHTA-2022 link

Step 3- Alternatively, click on theNETS 2022 application linkhere

Step 4- Register first to generate your login credentials

Step 5- Login using your application form number and password

Step 6- NETS 2022 application form will be displayed on the screen

Step 7- Fill in the form and attest all required documents

Step 8- Pay the application fee and submit the form

Step 9- Take a printout of the application form if required

NETS 2022 Admit Card

According to the official notice, “The e-Admit Card would be issued provisionally to the candidates through the NTA website”. Candidate must carry the admit card to the examination Centre without which he/she would not be allowed entry into the exam hall.
