Union Budget 2021:  National Apprentice Training Scheme (NATS) is governed by the Board of Apprenticeship Training/Practical Training, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Indian Government. It is a National Scheme for granting skill practice to newly qualified graduates and Diploma holders in Engineering and Technology. “Over ₹ 3,000 crores will be provided for this in the next 5 years,” Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in her budget speech.

The government of India started the “National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS)” to provide training for different jobs along with their studies, so the students don’t have to struggle for gathering skills for the job after completing their studies. Students can apply for different types of trainings on the NATS Portal according to their education level and field of study

Procedure to Apply Online National Apprenticeship Training Scheme Application Form 2022

Step 1- Visit the Official Website of the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme i.e. portal.mhrdnats.gov.in.

Step 2- On the Homepage, click on the “Register” button.

Step 3- The page appears with Eligibility Check, Questionnaire & Guidelines, Enrollment Form, and Preview & Confirm sections.

Step 4- In the Eligibility Check section, in the drop-down list, click on I am a Student.

Step 5- Other student-related questions will appear.

Step 6- Type to answer the questions related to the eligibility check for the NATS programme.

If you are eligible for the training programme, the Congrats! You are eligible to enroll now the message will appear.

If you are not eligible for the training programme, Sorry! You are not eligible to enroll in this apprentice Program message will appear

Step 7- Enter required information then Click on Save and continue.

Step 8- The Questionnaire & Guidelines section will show on the device screen..

Beneficiary Guidelines

The applicant should be an Indian citizen. The applicant must be pursuing a higher educational degree or diploma in a technological field. An applicant should be above the age of 16 years. An applicant must not have work experience. Applicants should not be a beneficiary of any other skill development program of the government. The applicant should not be a self employed person. Also he/she should not be involved in a business or profession that yields them a taxable income. National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme should not be active in any government service. The applicant should not be an existing professional in any field.

The apprentices are paid with some stipend amount during the tenure of the scheme. Candidates can enroll for apprenticeship training in the NATS web gateway. Students are suggested to visit the Apprenticeship Fairs, held annually to get chosen for training. The choice of apprentices for apprenticeship practice is the employer’s advantage. Any central, state or private sector organization can hire these trainees based upon their knowledge and skills. There are a total of 126 subject fields in which graduate/diploma students can gain training.

There are 126 subject fields for graduate / diploma students for which training is provided. National Scheme for providing skill training to Fresh Graduates, Diploma Holders in Engineering and Technology and +2 Vocational pass outs. It is a 1 year programme equipping technically qualified youth with practical knowledge and skills required in their field of work. During the period of Apprenticeship, the apprentices are paid a stipend amount, 50% of which is reimbursable to the employer from the Government of India. One year course providing technically equipped youngsters with functional knowledge and abilities required in their area of work. Apprenticeship training scheme ensures continuous availability of trainees in the establishment. Under this scheme, the subject fields have been designated for the category of Graduate/Technician Apprentices and Technician (Vocational) Apprentices, in addition to that optional trades are also available. The establishments can pay the amount greater than or equal to the minimum allowance amount fixed by the Indian Government to the apprentices. After the successful Apprenticeship, the training certificate will be provided by the relevant department.
