Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS) is an ambitious pension scheme which is run by the Maharashtra state govt. and central government. The Vidhwa Pension Yojana Maharashtra is run by the Social Justice and Special Assistance (SJSA) department.
The scheme was launched in January 2020. Widow pension will be given only to widowed girls and women of all poor families above the age of 18 years. The Maharashtra Widow Pension Scheme has set an age limit of 65 years for widowed women. Under this scheme, women will be given a sum of Rs 600 per month. Apart from this, any widow who will have children, will be given a sum of Rs 900. The amount given to women will be directly transferred to their bank account every month.
