Major Benefits

Beneficiary Benefits

the central government will benefit the farmers in two ways. One, they will get free electricity for irrigation and second, if they make additional electricity and send it to the grid, then they will also earn it. If a farmer has barren land, he can use it to produce solar energy. This will also earn them income from barren land.

Under the Kusum Yojana of the Central Government, 623 farmers of Rajasthan will produce 722 MW of solar power.

Under this scheme, which can produce solar energy by setting up solar plants in barren and unusable land, farmers can install solar power plants ranging from 0.5 to 2 MW capacity on their own unusable or wastelands.

With this, farmers will get regular income for 25 years from their barren or unusable land. With this, the farmers of the state will be able to get electricity easily for agricultural work during the day.

In addition to this, there will be a reduction in the cost of electricity distribution of the distribution corporations and on the system expansion.

The Electricity will be saved
Government believes that if solar energy is used in all irrigation pumps of the country, then not only will the electricity be saved but the production of 28 thousand MW additional power will also be possible.

  • Through the Kusum Yojana For Farmers of the Central Government, farmers can irrigate their fields by putting energy equipment and pumps on their land.
  • Under the Kusum scheme, the central government aims to run all the diesel / electric pumps used in irrigation works across the country with solar energy.
