The social justice department of Kerala with the Kerala Social Security Mission came up with a scheme to uplift the educational ease of physically handicapped students under which the students who are handicapped/disabled up to 40% will receive financial support for their uniforms and study materials by the social justice department.

Beneficiary Guidelines

The applicant must be a permanent resident of Kerala state. The applicant must be studying in Government / Aided Institution. Attested copy of the certificate issued by the Medical Board proving that the applicant has 40% or more disability. The applicant’s annual family income is not applicable to this scheme. The Head of Institution should attest the duly filled application form. Priority must be given to BPL category students.

Kerala Vidyajyothi Scheme 2022: Online Application Form PDF Download – Vidyajyothi scheme- Financial aid for uniforms and study materials to PH students: Social Justice Department with the help of Kerala Social Security Mission conducted a State-wide disability survey and it has been identified that there are 7,79,793 differently-abled persons out of which 1,30,799 persons are below the age of 18 years. For the educational upliftment of such PH students, Social Justice Department has initiated a new scheme called ‘Vidyajyothi’ scheme that provides financial assistance for the purchase of uniforms and study materials. Objectives of Kerala Vidyajyothi Scheme 2022

SCHEME OBJECTIVE

The main objective of Kerala Vidyajyothi scheme is the educational upliftment of differently-abled students. The assistance amount will be distributed directly to all the beneficiaries through DBT. The Department of Social Justice, with the help of Kerala Social Security Mission, directed disability studies in a state-wide youth.

In this scheme, Divyangjan studying in class 9th, 10th, +1, +2, ITI, Polytechnic, VHSC, Degree, Diploma, Professional courses and Post Graduation would be given assistance amount. The transfer of money would be done directly into the bank account of persons with disabilities through DBT mode.  Social Justice Department with the help of the Kerala Social Security Mission conducted a State-wide disability survey. According to the reports, there are 7,79,793 differently-abled people out of which 1,30,799 people are under the age of 18 years. The state government will select 25 beneficiaries from every district and offer them a grant of Rs. 3000 each. 20 students will be selected from every district. Each will receive Rs. 3000 from the Kerala government as grant.
