The Karnataka government has recently marked World Youth Skill Day by launching a Skill Connect Portal, the first in the country, to bring job seekers and employers together through virtual job fairs. The digital platform aims to bring together academic institutions, various skilling agencies, potential workforce, and potential employers.
The government of Karnataka’s Section 8 organisation Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) will act as a knowledge bridge between the government and the industry and support the department of skill development with advisory and program management services to successfully build the KSCP platform. The State Government has set up an “Industry Linkage Cell” in addition to the portal for providing skills and employment as per the vocational demand through Industrial Training Partners under the “Udyog Linkage Programme”.
