• All the beneficiaries must be a native of Haryana state.
• A family must belong to the EWS (Economically Weaker Section).
• The first daughter of a parent must be born on or after 22 January 2015 to avail of this scheme.
• The Below Poverty Line (BPL) families are eligible for this scheme.
• All families whose second girl child will get the one time grant of Rs. 21,000 irrespective of caste, creed, religion, income and number of sons.
• In the case of twins or multiple girls, a one time grant of Rs. 21,000 will be provided to the eligible families.
• The applicant should be financially vulnerable.
• The beneficial couple should not be income taxpayers.
• The applicant must not receive any financial assistance or pension from the Government or other local bodies of Governments.

Aapki Beti Hamari Beti is a Haryana State Government Scheme in which a sum of Rs 21000 is invested with Life Insurance Corporation LIC in the name of 1st Girl child of SC/BPL families and 2nd child of family belonging to any caste. On attaining 18 years of age, the girl child will be paid a tentative with effect from 24.08.2015 third girl child born in families belonging to any caste were also covered.

Under this scheme, interest will be given on the amount deposited in the daughter’s account at the rate of 9.2 percent for the year 2014-15. Any family can deposit a maximum of one lakh 50 thousand rupees in this account of their daughter. A provision has been made to withdraw 50 percent of the amount deposited on the completion of the daughter’s age of 18 years. The scheme will mature on the completion of the daughter’s age of 21 years.

Beneficiary Eligibility

Financial assistance of Rs 21,000 will be given to all families on January 21, 2015, or even after the birth of another girl, irrespective of their caste, religion and community and how much income that family has or how many boys in it.

If twins or more girls are born in a family, then a lump sum assistance of Rs 21,000 will be given to every girl as per eligibility. In all families in which another girl is born on or after January 21, 2015, financial assistance of Rs 5,000 per year will be given for 5 years. Similarly, if a twin or more girls are born after January 21, 2015, every girl will be given the assistance of Rs 2,500 for 5 years.

• BPL Financial assistance of Rs 21,000 will be provided to the families on the birth of the first girl child.
• All the daughters of the family will get the benefit of the scheme.
• Only those who are economically backward and belong to Scheduled Caste, Tribe or BPL category can avail benefits of the scheme.
• Under ‘Aapki Beti Hamari Beti Yojana’, the amount will be invested in the Life Insurance Corporation of India in the name of the girl, which will be given after she attains the age of 18 years.

• Girls born on or after 22 January 2015 can avail of this scheme.
• Birth registration of all girls is also required.
• It is necessary for parents to be residents of Haryana, registration of pregnant woman in Anganwadi Center or Health Department is necessary.
• All girls will be given an Aadhaar number from the time of birth, although the Aadhaar number of parents will also be accepted at the time of registration.
• This scheme will be applicable in both rural and urban areas.
• On receipt of the application, the amount will be released to the beneficiaries through their parents or guardians within a month.
