| Free supplies for ration card holders in Gujarat | |
| Summary: The state government on Wednesday announced that ration card holders will receive free supplies of essential commodities like wheat, rice, dal, sugar and salt from April 1 onwards. Over 60 lakh ration card holders, covering 3.25 crore persons, will benefit from the decision, the state government said.
The CM added that the government is taking all necessary steps to ensure that supply of grocery, vegetables, fruits and medicines across the state remains interrupted. He urged people not to hoard items. Under the scheme, the free ration will be provided to all of the residents of the Gujarat state. Gujarat Govt Decide to give free ration to the 60 lakh poor families of the state to face the hurdle during the lockdown situation. |

| All the people of the Gujarat State who have BPL Ration card will get the benefits of this scheme. | This scheme will help approximate 60 lakh people of the state. Beneficiaries will get food items, including 3.5 kg wheat and 1.5 kg rice per person plus 1 kg pulses, sugar and salt per family without paying any cost. This scheme will be implemented in the state with the effect of April 1st, 2020. |
