Gujarat Chief Minister has launched Citizen Smart Card Scheme 2023 in Mandvi. The new Citizens Smart Cards initiative is started in Mandvi municipality’s by CM via video link from Gandhinagar. Moreover, CM has also inaugurated the civic body’s new administrative building and auditorium.
The scheme has been officially launched in a single municipality for now and is expected to be extended to other municipalities or at the state level. Only after its official launch, the state government will invite the Citizen Smart Card Scheme Application Form. These registration forms can be invited through the official website of the state government https://www.digitalgujarat.gov.in/ or through a new dedicated portal.
Database of Families in Citizen Smart Card Scheme
Initially, the database of 700 families living in Mandvi town has been prepared for this new Citizen Smart Card Scheme. The database of households will have the following details:-
- Residents AADHAR card
- Ration card
- Election card
- Recent photographs in the Citizen Smart Cards
All the above mentioned details of the families would be collected with their consent only.
Services Offered Under the Scheme
The state’s citizens will be able to access a variety of services with this card. This program will provide benefits to about 7000 students. Once the data is ready, all citizens will be given smart cards. The data of these families will be gathered and stored in the central government’s digital locker. The Citizen Smart Card Scheme offers a variety of civic services, including income certificates, BPL certificates, and other documents that will make it easier for citizens to access their records.

Mokla Mane Samvad Programme
Gujarat Chief Minister also holds interactive deliberations with cattle owners from different districts under Mokla Mane Samvad programme. In this initiative, Gujarat Govt aims to maximize milk yield, conserve its native Gir and Kankrej cow breeds to the level of Kamdhenu. Animal husbandry is now treated at par with agriculture in Gujarat and state govt. has also framed strong law to effectively check cow slaughter. Gujarat is self sufficient in milk because of cattle owners and dairy farming even keeps rural economy humming during COVID-19 lockdown.

Citizen smart cards have been issued by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. The main objective of the introduction of smart cards is to take advantage of corruption-free and transparent government services through smart cards.
