BR Ambedkar SC Scholarship Scheme Online Registration Process

The Department of Welfare of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Backward Classes (BC), Government of Punjab provides the Dr. Ambedkar scholarship to the SC and OBC students belonging to Punjab. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Scheduled Caste students studying at post matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education.

You can register by entering your basic details. The system would generate an Applicant-id & password for you. Please note down the generated Applicant-Id & Password. Later you can fill up the online application in as many sittings as you wish, until you are satisfied that you have entered all desirable fields correctly. The software provides facility to save your application. Once you “Lock” your application, you will not be able to modify further.

Procedure to Apply Online Dr BR Ambedkar Post Matric SC Scholarship Scheme Application Form 2023

Step 1- Visit the Official Website of Dr BR Ambedkar Post Matric SC Scholarship Scheme i.e. www.scholarships.punjab.gov.in.

Step 2- On the Homepage, click on ‘Student Registration’ to register on the portal as a new user. A username and password will be generated on registering.

Step 3- The application Form page will be displayed on the screen.

Step 4- Now enter the required details (Mention all the details such as name, father/ mother name, date of birth, Aadhaar, gender, caste and other information) and upload documents.

Step 5- Click on Submit Button for the final submission of the application.

Step 6- Click on ‘Registered Student’s Login’ to log on the portal by using the registered username and password.

Step 7: Now, click on ‘Apply for scholarship’.

Step 9: Fill in all the required details in the form and then click on ‘Register Scholarship Application Form’ to submit.

Step 10: Now, click on the tab given on the left side of the application form and upload all the necessary documents in support of applicant’s credentials.

Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship Renewal Process:

Step 1- The renewal candidate has to visit the Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship Portal and click on ‘New Registration.

Step 2- He/ she should enter the user ID and password being used previously.

Step 3- The applicant should then click on the ‘Renewal Application’ tab for the current year.

Step 4- All personal details have to be entered and a new User ID and password are generated.

Step 5- The candidate should log in to the portal using the new credentials obtained.

Step 6- The application form is displayed where the applicant should enter details like last years’ merit score, attendance details, etc.

Step 7- He/ she can update any other details if needed.

Step 8- The final step is to upload all the required documents and ‘Submit’ the renewal application form.

How to check the status of my application?

You can check the status of your application anytime. After logging in, click on “ Edit-Lock-Print Application”
. Then select “Track Status” option. This will provide you current / latest status of your Scholarship Application.

What if I forget my Applicant ID/ Password?

You can recover your Applicant ID/ Password by clicking on “Registered students: Recover your password” from the Registered Student Log-in box. You have to fill up details like First Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number and e-mail Id, as you have entered in the application while generating the initial password. Application will regenerate the Password and SMS would be sent to your contact Mobile Number.

Beneficiary Guidelines
  • Applicants should belong to SC, OBC and should be an Indian National.
  • The annual family income of OBC students should not exceed INR 1,00,000 and SC students should not exceed INR 2,50,000.
  • The candidates should have passed Class10 and should be enrolled in a post-matric course or post-secondary course from a recognized institution.
  • Applicants pursuing postgraduate Medical courses are eligible to apply provided they do not practice during the period of the course.
  • Candidates pursuing distance learning/ correspondence are also eligible to apply.
  • The student applying for this scheme should not be getting a scholarship/ stipend from any other sources.

Dr BR Ambedkar Post Matric SC Scholarship Scheme 2023: Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Punjab Online Application Form PDF Download – On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki, Captain Amarinder Singh formally launched Dr BR Amberdkar Post Matric SC Scholarship scheme during a virtual ceremony. The scholarship is granted by the Ministry of Social Justice. The prime objective of the scheme is to provide financial support to candidates who are economically weak and suppressed. The scholarship scheme is for all applicants residing in the country.

The categorization of the scholarship scheme has been divided into pre and post-matric. Students from class 1st to 10th comes under pre-matric group while candidates above high school level up to UG, PG is classified into post matric.

How can I apply for a scholarship, if I am a student of the Institute, located outside Punjab?

You should send the application form manually to the Director, Department of Welfare of SC and OBC, Punjab.

According to the official statement issued by the Punjab government in this regard, CM Captain Amarinder Singh ‘distributed Post Matric SC Scholarship Certificates to SC students and congratulated the Valmiki Samaj for various schemes launched by the Technical Education and other Departments for the Dalit community in the state’.

Groups Hostellers Day scholars
Group I – Graduate and PG-level courses like M.Phil., Ph.D. Post-doctoral Medicine Research, Engineering and Allied courses, Veterinary and Allied Classes, Fashion Tech, Agriculture, Management, and so forth. Business Pilot License (CPL) course PG Diploma courses in authority and Pharmacy CA/L.L.M/CS/ICAW/CFA Scholarship funds will be awarded to the applicant of Rs 1200/month for 10 months Scholarship funds will be awarded to the applicant of Rs 550/month for 10 months
Group II – Graduate/PG courses prompting degree/recognition/declaration in regions, for example, drug store, Nursing, LLB, BFS, Mass Com, Hotel Management, Financial Services for which least level in class 12 and the limit from there PG Courses, for example, MA/M.Sc./M.Com/M.Ed. and so on. Scholarship funds will be awarded to the applicant of Rs 820/month for 10 months Scholarship funds will be awarded to the applicant of Rs 530/month for 10 months
Group III –All non-degree post-registration classes fro which the base capability is class 10, for example, class 11 and 12, both general and expert, ITI, 3-year Diploma, Polytechnic, and so forth. This scholarship scheme will ensure that poor SC students get a free higher education, which the Government of India had unfairly deprived them of with its abrupt withdrawal of central aid of Rs. 800 crore to the state.

SCHEME FEATURES
  • Over 3 lakh poor SC students will benefit from the scheme while adding that a ‘monthly stipend’ will also be provided to the students to buy education-related essential like books and uniforms.
  • The Dr B.R. Ambedkar Post Matric SC Scholarship, being launched without any financial contribution from the Centre, will provide 100% fee waiver for SC students to give them net savings of about Rs. 550 crore.
  • Around 90 trainees had so far been admitted to the institute.
  • The student strength will be raised to 240 by next year when the building will be renovated at a cost of Rs. 1.82 crore and machinery worth Rs. 3.5 crore will be procured.
