Loan Details Under Dhoodh Ganga Yojana 2022 (हिमाचल प्रदेश में डेयरी फार्मिंग पर सब्सिडी)

  • For 2 to 10 milch animals, a loan of up to ₹ 500000 is made available to the cattle rearing farmers.
  • A loan of Rs 4.80 lakh is provided for rearing 5 to 20 calves.
  • A loan of Rs 0.20 lakh is given for vermicompost (to be attached to the unit of milch cows).
  • A loan of Rs.18 lakh is provided for a milking machine/milk taster/large milk cooler unit (up to 2000 liters).
  • A loan of Rs 12 lakh is given for setting up units for making indigenous products from milk.
  • 24 lakh loan is given for transportation of milk products and cold chain facility.
  • 30 lakh loan is given for cold storage of milk and milk products.
  • Loans of Rs 2.40 and 1.80 lakh are given on mobile and permanent units for private veterinary medicine.
  • Loan up to Rs 0.56 lakh is made available by the government to the beneficiary farmers and livestock farmers for the construction of booths to sell milk products.

Subsidy to be provided under Doodh Ganga Yojana 

Through the Himachal Pradesh Doodh Ganga Yojna  2022, loans are provided to the cattle farmers and farmers of the state at reasonable interest rates for doing milk business. On this loan amount, the subsidy is provided by the government to the beneficiaries. Under the Doodh Ganga Yojana, 33 percent subsidy is given to SC, ST farmers and 25 percent to general category farmers. A provision of additional subsidy has also been made under this scheme by the state government. Apart from the center, farmers are also provided 20 percent additional assistance on buying indigenous cows and buffaloes and 10 percent on Jersey cow purchases by the state government. 

50% interest rate rebate for self help group

A loan of up to ₹ 300000 is provided by the government to self-help groups through Dhoodh Ganga Yojana 2022 to set up a dairy farm of 10 animals . They are given a rebate of 50% interest rate on this loan amount. That is, the self-help group has to pay the interest rate only on a loan of Rs 1.5 lakh. This additional interest rate rebate is provided to the SHG people so that more and more SHGs of the state can be encouraged to set up quality dairy farms.

Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Virendra Kanwar has said that now under Doodh Ganga Yojna 2022, a center for dairy farms and training will be set up to modernize dairy farms in Himachal Pradesh. The central government has also approved the construction of modern dairy farms and training centers at various places in the state. The dairy farms to be built under this center will have the facility to keep 400 milch animals with modern machines. The veterinary officers and other staff posted in these farms will also be given training so that they can help the farmers in animal husbandry.

  • It is mandatory for the applicant engaged in milk production to be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh.
  • Individuals/self-help groups/non-government organizations/milk organizations/milk cooperative societies/companies etc are eligible to take advantage of Doodh Ganga Yojana 2022.
  • Apart from this, more than one member of a family by setting up their separate units at different places are eligible to avail benefits under this scheme but their installed units should be at least 500 meters away from each other.

Objectives of Doodh Ganga Yojana 2022

The objective of this project is to convert the micro enterprises engaged in dairy farming into successful dairy enterprises. Also, financially empowering 50,000 rural families through 10,000 Self Help Groups (SHGs). Under this scheme, people of rural areas are being motivated for retail sale of dairy products and related activities on a large scale, which will help in enhancing their economic status.
