‘Pension not given to widows during lockdown’ The Delhi High Court on Tuesday sought response from the Centre and the city government on a petition claiming that pension to around 12,000 widows has been discontinued during the COVID-19 lockdown by the Woman and Child Development Ministry without any valid reason. The state government today informed the Delhi High Court that it will provide widows Rs 2,500 as monthly pension and a one-time payment of Rs 1 lakh for the marriage of their daughters. It also said that a one-time payment of Rs 20,000 will be provided to women in distress, under various schemes.

The Department provides Ladli Scheme for Girl Child, Child Protection, Orphan Girls & Poor Window’s daughter’s Marriage, Widow’s Pension. Delhi Widow Pension Scheme 2023: Online Application Form PDF Download – Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS) was launched by the Central Government in 1995 as a part of the National Social Assistance program. The objective of the scheme is to empower the widows of the state. Department of WCD, Delhi Government is implementing various Financial Assistance Schemes of Govt. of India and Govt. of Delhi for the benefit of different sections through Financial Assistance Cell. The Chief Minister of Delhi Mr. Arvind Kejriwal has re-launched the Delhi Widow Pension Scheme 2023. Through this Delhi Widow Pension Yojana, the widow women of the state will get financial assistance from the government.  Under this Vidhwa Pension Yojana in Delhi, all the women in distress who are divorced or have been left can apply for a monthly pension amount of Rs. 2500. Widow Pension Amount Beneficiaries of Delhi Widow Pension Scheme (Delhi Pension Scheme to Women in Disaster) will get Rs. 2500(Two thousand five hundred) per person on a quarterly basis directly in to the bank account through ECS of RBI or PFMS. Delhi Widow Pension Application Procedure through CSC The procedure for filing the application as follows: The applicant must visit the nearest Citizen Service Centre (CSC) and submit all your documents to the concerned officer at CSC for registration under the scheme. Then the duly filled application form will be forwarded to the prescribed authority for verification. After verification, the pension amount will be issued to the applicant within the specified time.
