What is marriage certificate
Marriage certificates are official statements, under which two people are considered married. Marriage in the country is registered under the Hindu Marriage Act 1955 and the Special Marriage Act 1954. It legally proves that you are married.

‘Tatkal’ Marriage Certificate
In April 2014, the Revenue Department of Delhi government introduced a ‘tatkal’ service ensuring a single-day authorisation of the marriage under which the registration process will be undertaken on priority.
The service, which became operational on April 22, 2014 enables citizens to register their nuptials and get a certificate issued within 24 hours on payment of Rs. 10,000 as a fee.

Delhi Marriage Certificate Online Registration Process
The revenue department of the Delhi government runs a website called e-district. Through this, the government provides online service to the people.
Step to Apply Online Delhi Marriage Certificate Application Form 2023
Step 1- Visit the Official Website E-district Delhi Portal i.e. https://edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in/.
The new user has to register first on the e-district portal. Then follow the instruction on the screen.
Step 2- On Homepage, For registration click “new user” option from citizen’s corner.
Step 3- Select the type of document either “Aadhar card” or “voter ID card”.
Step 4- Enter the number and captcha code, read the declaration and tick the checkbox.
Step 5- Click continue option and complete the procedure.
Step 6- Login with the site by click “registered user login” option.
Step 7- Click “apply for services” option and search “registration of marriage”.
Step 8- Click “apply” option and form will appear on the screen.
Step 9- Fill the info such as date of marriage, location, the bride and groom personal details, witness details etc.
Step 10 Click “apply” option and form will appear on the screen.
Step 11- Upload the documents and submit the application form
Step 12- You will get a temporary number. This temperature number will also be on the enrollment slip. Do not forget to take a print out of your application form and acknowledgement slip. The application form is done.
Step 13- When your application is approved after the finalization of the appointment, you can download the Marriage Certificates by putting the application number on the e-District portal.
Step 14- Visit the registrar office along with witness and documents on the appointment date and time
