ABOUT SCHEME

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana 2022: Online Application Form PDF Download – Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) is designed to provide continuous power supply to entire rural India. The scheme was launched under leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in November 2014 announcing that “the government had decided to electrify 18,452 unelectrified villages within 1000 days, by May 1, 2018.

Deendayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana Monitoring Committee

DDUGJY was launched as many of the rural areas in the nation were faced with insufficient power supply, which often pushed the distributors to cut off the power for long durations. The problem of power shortage affects both agro and non-agro customers. Under this scheme, a monitoring committee will be set up under the chairmanship of the Secretary of Energy. This committee will approve and implement the projects under this scheme. Under this Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, an agreement will be signed between the Ministry of Power, DISCOM and the State Government under which the guidelines of the scheme will be.

The Government of India has invested Rs 43,033 crore for this scheme. Out of which only Rs 33,453 crore has been spent. All the discoms are eligible under this Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana. In which the DISCOMS of private and state electricity department also come.

Financial funding mechanism under Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana

The grant portion under this scheme is 85% for special category states and 60% for other states. In the special category are Sikkim, Jammu Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana , there is a provision to complete the scheme within a period of 24 months.

SCHEME OBJECTIVE

The Union government in November 2015 approved the ‘Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana’( DDUGJY) designed according to the challenges and priorities to be met at the ground level. The main objective of the scheme is to provide continuous power supply to the whole of rural India. The target of the scheme was to electrify more than 18 thousand non-electrified villages within 1000 days i.e. by May 1, 2018. SCHEME FEATURES

The Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Scheme has been included in DDUGJY. The Prime Minister of our country, Shri Narendra Modi, started this scheme in the year 2014. Under this scheme a special category state will be given a grant of 85% and other states will be given a grant of 60%. The nodal agency for this scheme is the Rural Electrification Corporation Limited. All DISCOMs are eligible for financial assistance under this scheme. Agricultural yield will also increase through Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana. Monitoring has been ensured through the Village Electrical Engineer (GVA) to speed up the process.
