In order to implement this scheme, the Government of India and SIDBI have set up a credit guarantee fund trust for micro and small enterprises.

Credit Guarantee Scheme 2022: Online Application Form PDF Download – The Credit Guarantee Scheme for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGS) was launched by the Government of India (GoI) to make available collateral-free credit to the micro and small enterprise sector. Both the existing and the new enterprises are eligible to be covered under the scheme.
The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, GoI and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), established a Trust named Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) to implement the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Micro and Small Enterprises.

Types Of Credit Guarantee Scheme
- Credit guarantee scheme for banks- In order to fund the micro and small enterprises the Government of India has framed this scheme. Through this
- scheme guarantees are provided in respect of credit facility by the lending institution to the borrowers in the micro and small enterprises
- Credit guarantee scheme for NBFC- Through this scheme credit facilities are extended by the eligible NBFCS to the borrowers in the micro and small enterprises
- Sub debt scheme- Through this scheme guarantee coverage is provided to the scheduled commercial bank in order to provide personal loan through the banks to the the promoters of the stressed MSME in order to infuse equity or sub debt or quasi equity etc
- PM svanidhi- This scheme has been launched by the government of India in order to support urban Street vendors. Credit guarantee coverage is provided to the member lending institution in order to enable them to extend credit facilities to the street vendors in order to meet their working capital requirement

Credit Guarantee Scheme Eligibility Criteria
Beneficiary Eligibility Guidelines:
- Applicant must be permanent resident of India
- The applicant must be first generation entrepreneur
- New as well as existing Micro & Small Enterprises. Guarantee coverage ranges from 85% (Micro Enterprise up to Rs 5 lakh ) to 75% (others). 50% coverage is for Retail Activity
Objectives of Credit Guarantee Scheme 2022
The main objective is that the lender should give importance to project viability and secure the credit facility purely on the primary security of the assets financed. The other objective is that the lender availing guarantee facility should endeavor to give composite credit to the borrowers so that the borrowers obtain both term loan and working capital facilities from a single agency. The benefit of this scheme is generally provided to first-generation entrepreneurs. If the entrepreneur fails to pay back the loan within the stipulated time then through this scheme the lender will be paid by the credit guarantee trust up to 50%, 75%, 80%, or 85% of the loss incurred by the lender.
Scheme Benefits
- This scheme has introduced a new hybrid product allowing guarantee cover that is not covered by collateral securities.
- The MLIs will be allowed to obtain collateral security for the part of the credit facility
- The remaining part of the credit facility will be covered under the scheme up to a maximum of 200 lakh.
