Summary: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has given a big deal to the journalists of the state. CM Nitish launched the journalist Samman Pension Yojana. Step to Apply Online Bihar Patrakar Samman Yojana 2020
Step 1: Visit the Official Website Information and Public Relation Department i.e. http://prdbihar.gov.in/.

Step 2: On Homepage, go to the “what’s new” section and select “Patrakar Pension Scheme and Form” option

Step 3: Read instructions carefully and print Application Form.

Step 4: Now fill the required details (Mention all the details such as name, father/ husband name, date of birth, gender and other information) and upload documents.

Step 5: Attach the necessary documents with it and paste your recent passport size photo on it

Step 6: Enclose the form in an envelope and submit the form to the director of the Information and Public Relation Department, Patna, Bihar.

Beneficiaries will get Rs. 6000/- per month as pension amount directly in the bank account of the beneficiary.

After the death of the beneficiary, his spouse will entitle Rs. 3000/- per month under family pension for the lifelong.

The characters of the scheme will be only for journalists who do not avail other pension plans.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants have to be residents of Bihar.
  • The concerned journalists should have been in service for at least twenty years.
  • Only retired journalists having at least twenty years of experience in the profession is eligible for the scheme.
  • The applicant should be 60 years of age to avail the benefits of the scheme.
  • The journalist should have Information Public Relation Department (IPRD) accreditation.
  • The journalists have to be verified journalists, to withdraw the pension.
  • On the instructions of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the amount of pension was transferred to the account of 40 journalists. 
  • The pension has been paid under Bihar Journalist Samman Pension Scheme Rules 2019. 
  • In addition to these 40 journalists, five journalists will get pension benefits with effect from 6 March 2020 and three journalists on 16 March 2020. 
  • 1.36 lakh was paid for the 40 journalists who are to benefit from November 2019.
