Assam Legislative Assembly Elections 2023

The polls for the 126-member Assam Assembly will be held in three phases on March 27, April 1, and April 6. The results will be announced on May 2. According to the CEC, out of the total 126 Assembly seats in Assam, eight are reserved for the candidates of Scheduled Castes and 16 for Scheduled Tribes.

There are a total of 33,530 polling stations in Assam this year. It is an increase of 34.71 percent from the last elections held in 2016.

Copies of the draft electoral roll will be available for inspection with the Booth-Level Officers (BLOs) and the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs). One can also log in to www.ceoassam.in and www.nvsp.in to inspect the electoral roll.

All eligible Indian citizens who will be attaining the age of 18 years on January 1, 2021 as the qualifying date, may apply for registration of their names as voters within the period from November 18, 2020 to December 15, 2020.

Application for registration, deletion of names from the electoral roll, correction of entries in the electoral roll and transposition of name from one polling station to another polling station in the same constituency, can be submitted online through www.ceoassam.in and www.nvsp.in. Forms will also be available with the BLOs and EROs. “One can submit filled-in forms to the BLO of the concerning polling station and ERO of the concerning Assembly Constituency,” stated a release.

Assam Voter List Released For Assembly Polls

Assam, the final Electoral Roll-2021 was published. State Assembly polls are to be held this year. As per the roll, the state has two crore 29 lakh 92 thousand 505 electors. While one crore 16 lakh 56 thousand 926 are male voters, the number of female voters is one crore 13 lakh 35 thousand 579.

Compared to the Final Photo Electoral Roll-2020, the state has registered an increase of 2.46 per cent voters.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Assam, has requested all citizens to participate in the special summary revision exercise-2021.

The total electorates in the State now are 2,24,39,522. Of them, while male voters are 1,14,25,748, the female electorates are 1,10,13,774. While the maximum number of 60,64,678 voters is in the 20-to-29 age group with 30,89,856 males and 29,74,822 females, the minimum number of 1,17,051 electorates are in the 18-19 age group with 59,185 male voters and 47,866 female electorates.

  • Around 876 booths which include 144 auxiliary booths in Dhubri district. There are 95300 voters in Dhubri LAC, 2,04,778 in Gauripur LAC and 2,02,398 voters in Golakganj LAC.
  • There are a total of 6,919 doubtful voters in all the three LACs. In Dhubri there are 2,155 doubtful voters, in Gauripur there are 2344 doubtful voters, in Golakganj there are 2460 doubtful voters.
  • The number of service voters in all the three LACs are 902. There are five assembly seats in Dhubri district that are 23 no Dhubri, 24 no Gauripur, 25 No Golakganj, 26 no Bilaspur West and 27 no Bilaspur East.

There are some citizens of Assam who have failed to upload their passport size photos for voter id card within the stipulated time. Now those citizens of Assam can provide their photos for Assam voter list through WhatsApp. For all those people, the district election officer of Kamrup has made available a WhatsApp number. Through this number, the citizens can provide their photo and avoid the cancellation of the name.

This WhatsApp number can be collected from the district election office. For Kamrup district the number provided is 7577001889. All the 4 constituencies of Kamrup can submit their photos through this number. At the time of submission, citizens are required to provide the name, address and EPIC number.
